Conditions were as tough as they could be today in Derry for the even age group all Ireland cross country championships. Athletes had travelled from all over the country to compete. St Cocas were represented by 3 boys in the u14 race. Matthew Ennis fresh from his terrific performance in Leinster was always in contention as the race moved into the final lap. As the leaders surged to the finish there wasn't much between the athletes from 8th to 15th place and Matthew crossed the line in 14th. A fantastic run. Eoghan McNerney and Liam Keogh both finished strongly and helped the Kildare County team to 5th place.  These lads have been training hard this season and have made great strides over the last few months. They will be out again in 2 weeks time in the uneven age groups where we will have up to 30 athletes competing.
